The Martha's Vineyard Seafood Collaborative (MVSC) was established in 2021 as an extension of the Martha’s Vineyard Fishermen’s Preservation Trust (MVFPT), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
We support a network of local independent commercial fishermen and aquaculture farmers by purchasing, marketing, and wholesaling their catches and harvests.
We wholesale a seasonal variety of local species both on and off Island to restaurants, markets, private chefs, caterers, and larger wholesale distributors. Our Vineyard wild caught and aquaculture raised seafood is known for its quality and freshness.
We also aim to educate people about the abundant local seafood choices available to them, and the importance of becoming a partner in the preservation of our local commercial fishing heritage, and its future.
The Martha's Vineyard Seafood Collaborative headquarters is located along the commercial dock in the historic fishing village of Menemsha (Chilmark, MA). Here we offload locally caught and harvested seafood directly from Vineyard Fishermen, and the process the seafood for delivery to local restaurants, markets, and regional distributors.
The Martha’s Vineyard Fishermen’s Preservation Trust is a Massachusetts 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established in 2011 to: (i) Preserve the historic fishing fleets, communities, and economies of Martha’s Vineyard; (ii) Protect the marine populations and fishing grounds off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard and New England; (iii) Educate the community about its local fisheries.
